Survey showing most support Fracking rubbished by Governments own poll
A study showing that "57%
of people support the production of natural gas from shale in the UK, compared
with 16% who oppose and 27% who are undecided", produced by the Oil
and Gas industry and widely publicised throughout
Television and Local Media has been thrown into doubt by the Government's own
statistics published yesterday (11/10/14).

Redacted Fracking Report, hidden truths of Fracking?
Heavily Redacted Government Fracking Reports Suggests the Government has something the hide about Fracking. The report obtained through a freedom of information request assessed how the Onshore Shale and Gas industry and its Fracking program might effect local services, economy and house prices.
House prices and the impact on services were the most heavily redacted areas of the report. Its clear that the social impact of this venture is not something that our government is prepared to discuss with you and I. I link to the full story an be found at http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/main-topics/politics/redacted-fracking-report-criticised-1-6779235 (Yorkshire post).
A copy of the report is available at https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/337654/RFI6751_Draft_Shale_Gas_Rural_economy_impact_report.pdf

New Pressure Group Starts in Sefton
New Pressure Group Formed to Fight Fracking
Residents from around the borough attended a presentation at the Gild Hall Formby to listen to members of FRACKOFF an experienced Anti Fracking pressure group to learn more about the impact of this form of energy production on the environment and local communities.
At the end of the meeting residents got together to form a local pressure group Sefton Against Fracking. We are now looking for others who are concerned about this issue to come together and let our Council know in no uncertain terms that residents of Sefton do not want Fracking in the Borough, not only is the technology unproven and the benefits if any are short lived, the industrialisation of our countryside is not acceptable and the practice would undoubtedly be detrimental to one of our main industries Tourism.
This simply has to stop now! All over Sefton there are seismic surveys occurring right now and applications for test drilling may be received within a year (this has been the time scale in other communities). Don't wait until it is too late. Act now!
